DEHRADUN: Uttarakhand govt has launched a Rs 3.6 crore venture aimed toward reviving Jadung, a village in Uttarkashi district of Garhwal Himalayas that has remained deserted since 1962 India-China battle. The initiative focuses on selling astro-tourism, trekking, and homestays to spice up native tourism.
As a part of the venture, the tourism division is growing viewing factors at Hawabend close to Gartang Gali (a heritage picket step bridge constructed over 150 years in the past), , with an expenditure of Rs 1.4 crore.One other viewing level is being constructed at Sri Kantha, with an funding of Rs 1.5 crore, officers stated. Six homes are being remodeled into homestays, utilizing vernacular structure and native materials.
