GUWAHATI: Outlawed militants launched a gun and bomb assault in Borobekra subdivision of Manipur‘s Jiribam district Saturday morning, a day after a faculty was burned down in Jiribam city near the Assam border.
The attackers focused Borobekra police station, firing indiscriminately round 5.30am. Central safety forces and cops responded with counterfire, pushing the militants to flee.Reinforcements have been despatched to the realm, whereas the aged, ladies and kids have been quickly relocated to safer places. No casualties have been reported up to now.
Borobekra, located 30 km from Jiribam city, is surrounded by hills and dense forests.
