'Nari Shakti blessings': PM Modi after Odisha tribal woman sends Rs 100 to 'convey thanks'

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday stated blessings from ‘Nari Shakti‘ encourage him to maintain working in the direction of constructing a ‘Viksit Bharat,’ as he responded to a heartfelt gesture by a tribal girl from Odisha who handed over Rs 100 to BJP vice chairman Baijayant Jay Panda, “conveying thanks” to PM Modi.
Prime Minister Modi’s response adopted a put up by BJP vice chairman Baijayant Jay Panda on X.Within the put up, Panda shared that in a membership drive in Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Friday, he met a tribal girl who insisted on giving him cash to “convey thanks” to PM Modi for his efforts.
“This Adivasi girl insisted on giving me Rs 100 to ‘convey thanks’ to PM Narendra Modi. She brushed apart my demurrals & explanations that it wasn’t essential, & merely wouldn’t take no for a solution till I lastly relented,” the five-time MP stated in his X put up together with photos of assembly together with her.
“It is a reflection of the transformation that Odisha & Bharat is experiencing,” he added.
Touched by the gesture, PM Modi responded saying, “I bow to our Nari Shakti for all the time blessing me. Their blessings encourage me to maintain working to construct a Viksit Bharat.”

The BJP holds energy in Odisha, with a sitting chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who just lately took oath within the presence of Prime Minister Modi. The celebration ended the 24-year rule of the Naveen Patnaik-led Biju Janata Dal (BJD) by successful 78 out of 147 seats within the 2024 state elections, which had been held alongside the Lok Sabha polls. The BJD secured 51 seats, falling wanting the 74-seat majority, whereas the Congress managed to win solely 14 seats.
Within the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, the BJP secured 20 out of the 21 parliamentary seats within the state, whereas the Congress gained only one, and the BJD drew a clean.
