Ayodhya Ram Mandir Inauguration: Visva-Bharati University in West Bengal announces a half-day holiday on January 22 |

Pran Prathitha Ceremony in Ayodhya: In honour of the ‘Pran Prathitha’ ceremony happening in Ayodhya, Visva-Bharati College in Bolpur-Santiniketan, West Bengal, has introduced a half-day vacation on Monday, twenty second January 2024.
“That is to inform for info of all involved that the College in its all Bhavanas/ Vibhagas/ Departments/ Administrative Workplaces/ Sections and so forth.apart from these workplaces rendering emergency providers will stay closed for half day until 2:30 pm on twenty second January, 2024 for celebration of the Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha at Ayodhya as per the communication made by Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Division of Personnel & Coaching, Govt. of India vide its O.M. F. No. 12/7/2023-JCA dated 18th January, 2024,” reads the official notification.

On Friday, Sukanta Majumdar, the chief of the BJP in West Bengal, despatched a letter to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, urging her to declare a day without work on Monday for the Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya.

Sharing a duplicate of the letter on X (previously Twitter), Majumdar wrote, “I’ve requested our Hon’ble CM @MamataOfficial (Mamata Banerjee) to kindly think about declaring twenty second January 2024 to be a college vacation, in order that the youth of West Bengal will get to rejoice within the Ram Mandir consecration celebrations.”
Many states, together with Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tripura, and Uttar Pradesh, have already introduced that January 22, 2024, shall be a public vacation for the ‘Pran Prathistha’ ceremony in Ayodhya.

Visva-Bharati was based by the primary non-European Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Thākur (popularly often called Tagore) in 1921. It was declared to be a central college and an establishment of nationwide significance by an Act of Parliament in 1951. As per the small print accessible on the College’s web site, the President of India is the Paridarsaka (Customer) of the College, the Governor of West Bengal is the Pradhana (Rector), and the Prime Minister of India acts because the Acharya (Chancellor).
