Eight Reform UK candidates have made a variety of offensive remarks on-line about ladies previously, the BBC can reveal.
The remarks embrace disparaging feedback in regards to the murdered MP Jo Cox, former Prime Minister Theresa Could, and a black actuality TV contestant.
The feedback had been posted between 2011 and 2023.
Reform UK and the candidates concerned have all been approached for remark.
Earlier this week, the social gathering stated it deliberate to sue an organization it employed to vet potential MPs.
Among the many candidates whose feedback the BBC has uncovered is Simon Moorehead, standing in Inverclyde and Renfrewshire West, who wrote on X: “[Jo] Cox was a dreadful girl, with unhealthy concepts”.
He then added: “No-one wished her useless although”.
Mark Cole, the candidate in Harwich and North Essex, stated in a Fb submit: “Accidently switched on to X-Manufacturing unit. The one factor value watching is the black bint…. whoever she is.”
Mr Cole deleted this remark after being approached by the BBC.
Emmett Jenner, the candidate for Ynys Mon, who shared a submit from Conservative Occasion Headquarters which learn: “PM: I need ladies who’re rising up as we speak to know that they will obtain something they need.”
Mr Jenner commented on the submit: “Like fertilising eggs & offering Y chromosomes.”
In response to a request for remark, Mr Jenner advised the BBC: “That’s/was a parody account and you may see it’s taking the Michael out of the Conservatives.
“I would not take something on there at face worth, it is all intentionally provocative windups meant to elicit embarrassing responses.”
