On Friday, Sukanta Majumdar, the chief of the BJP in West Bengal, despatched a letter to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, urging her to declare a day without work on Monday for the Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya.

Sharing a duplicate of the letter on X (previously Twitter), Majumdar wrote, “I’ve requested our Hon’ble CM @MamataOfficial (Mamata Banerjee) to kindly think about declaring twenty second January 2024 to be a college vacation, in order that the youth of West Bengal will get to rejoice within the Ram Mandir consecration celebrations.”
Many states, together with Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tripura, and Uttar Pradesh, have already introduced that January 22, 2024, shall be a public vacation for the ‘Pran Prathistha’ ceremony in Ayodhya.
