AHMEDABAD: Two people, allegedly impersonating Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) officers, reportedly kidnapped and robbed a person from Gujarat who had smuggled two gold capsules price Rs 50 lakh into India from Dubai, as per the police on Saturday.
The complainant, Danish Sheikh, disclosed that he traveled to Dubai on October 9 on the request of an acquaintance in Vadodara, who supplied tickets and lodging, paying him Rs 20,000 for smuggling gold, hid in his rectum, again into the nation.
Upon touchdown at Ahmedabad airport on October 28, Sheikh accomplished immigration formalities and headed to the airport’s car parking zone, the place a van despatched by his Vadodara acquaintance awaited.
